Welcome! We are the Edge lab, a group of researchers studying evolutionary genetics at the University of Southern California (USC). We use math, statistics, and computation to study the sources and consequences of genetic variation. We are part of USC’s Department of Quantitative and Computational Biology (QCB), which administers the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (CBB) graduate program.
We are located on the 4th floor of Ray R. Irani Hall (RRI) at the University of Southern California, in the University Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Josh Schraiber's paper examining the notion of between-group heritability and related ideas is now published in PNAS. Congratulations, Josh!
Dec 2023Vivian Link's paper proposing a tree-based method for identifying quantitative-trait loci is now published in the American Journal of Human Genetics. Congratulations, Vivian!
Oct 2023Vivian Link's paper on trait-associated genetic variants in the neighborhood of forensic-genetic loci is now published in iScience. Congratulations, Vivian!
July 2023Tina Lasisi and Sanjana Paye have left Los Angeles for the University of Michigan, where Tina will be an assistant professor of anthropology and Sanjana will be an MD/PhD student. Congratulations, and we will miss you both!
May 2023Feriel Ouerghi has joined the lab as a PhD student. Welcome, Feriel!
